Television Solutions
With
the exception of Denver, nearly all the top 40 markets are broadcasting
their digital signals. The recent decisions by the FCC will allow
some stations to delay their implementation of DTV but it will
not stop the change over. DTV is inevitable and with Congress
expecting a large influx of cash from the sale of the available
spectrum to be vacated when the switch to Digital in concluded
they will not change their mind. As further proof that DTV is
inevitable, several stations have applied for extensions to the
on air date and have been turned down. While some grace period
may be allowed, is it worth betting your license?
Meeting
even the bare minimum requirement for broadcasting a digital signal
in most cases requires putting up at least a low power antenna
with flexible feed line. Knowing what the tower can or cannot
handle and picking the best possible equipment for the job is
cheap insurance for a very expensive broadcasting license.
