Antenna
and Line Sweeps
Proper
operation of an antenna system is dependent on a number of factors.
Not only the purity of the signal generated from the transmitter,
but the quality of the transmission line, combiners, diplexers,
filters, power dividers and the antenna itself are critical. Using
state-of-the-art test equipment can determine the exact condition
of the antenna and its associated feed lines. Simple measurements
of reflection and time domain can provide a good picture of the
efficiency of the antenna system or locate and define problems
in the system under test. For any issue from high SWR to total
system failure, antenna and line sweeping is important to locate
the problem and restore the system to maximum efficiency. Good
preventative maintenance includes periodic system inspection complete
with antenna and line sweep.
